I used to own one of these but freecycled it so I could get a newer design.
Why does it have a design limitation?
Like the original, first cafetieres, it suffers from the simple limitation of the carafe having a steel frame. Why is this important? Because when the very hot (never boiling) water is poured into the carafe, the steel frame gripping the glass draws the heat away quickly, particularly if the carafe hasn't been warmed beforehand, resulting in the coffee rapidly cooling in the 4mins it needs to infuse. The result is a less flavoursome brew in addition to the liquor not being piping hot - important to emulsify the ideal thick Jersey or Gurnsea milk (or even cream).
The steel gauze and plunger assembly common to this technology can't really be helped but the metallic frame is today, a pretty, if limiting design
This can be worked around somewhat if the carafe is prewarmed, but that's just another hassle.
Better to buy the modern versions with Bakelite, phenolic or thermally resistant polypropylene frames such as the types in the other Bodum range.
For butterfingers, Bodum also make cafetiere's with shatter-resistant polycarbonate carafes, though glass is always the best option for abrasion resistance and inertness.
Conclusion?
Perhaps a good idea if you own a cafe, as it encourages customers to drink the coffee and go before it cools!

it is very small. it makes at best 1 normal sized coffee mugs worth of coffee it is not large enough for 2 or 3 mugs.
The top does not fit snugly into the flask it is pretty loose so have to hold a thumb onto it when poring coffee otherwise it spins round.
the glass feels fairly thin so i am worried it may shatter
plunger is decent with removable components for easier cleaning and does a decent job of pushing down the coffee without any escaping.
the press comes with a small scoop spoon and i would suggest using no more than one spoons worth of coarse ground coffee (do not use smaller espresso coffee as i feel this would create too much pressure for the flask and may make it shatter)
