Robust and effective Sent: 28 January 2006 I've had my Antigua since 1997 and have bought three more as presents for friends. It doesn't pretend to be a top-of-the-line espresso grinder but it copes remarkably well for such a low-priced machine, and I've been very pleased with the espressos I've generated with mine. There may, of course, have been cost-cutting along the way, so it's possibly today's model may be less effective - although my friends haven't complained!I find I get the best results by removing the catcher and dispensing the ground coffee directly into the filter basket, which fits (at least if it's a Gaggia one) neatly into the recess under the chute. I don't feel the need for a doser - two Bodum scoopfuls of beans make a spot-on double. Two caveats: firstly, buy a black one, as the white will look grotty in no time and the 'chrome' is just ghastly painted plastic; and secondly, LXX pounds is way too much to pay - Bodum's outlet shops sell this for XL.
