Product Description C-Mill Electric Blade Grinder by BodumAt last a grinder for coffee lovers everywhere as the full flavour of the cut beans is not compromised by the grinding. The C-Mill electric coffee grinder has a very powerful and precise motor for grinding coffee beans. The beans don't just get crushed but cut at a very high speed, thus ensuring that none of the coffee taste is lost from the beans. The C-Mill will grind 1.6oz of coffee.Colours available: Chrome and BlackSize: 1.6cm x 17.2cmCapacity: 1.6oz of coffee
A pretty machine - but not without problems Sent: 17 September 2008 I bought the Bodum mill to replace my 30-year-old Moulinex. I've had the Bodum for between three and four months now. I find that it grinds rather unevenly (in the same batch there is some very powdery coffee and some rather large chunks), and that the ledges inside the mill and the lid collect ground coffee which is difficult to clean off except with a paintbrush. This is obviously not ideal.
No good for Espresso or filters Sent: 11 March 2008 It's a good quality machine but clearly designed for cafetiere users. The grind is coarse and has no settings to adjust grind. It is not fine enough for a strong Espresso or for use with paper filters.
Doesn't Grind The Beans Finely Enough For Me Sent: 04 November 2007 I'm using my grinder with a Gaggia Espresso maker, and I've found that this device just doesn't grind my beans finely enough to make a good, strong espresso.
Also, after a thirty second 'wizz', you can really smell the motor heating up.
It's probably fine for cafetiere coffee, but not so good for a proper espresso machine.
Danger Sent: 11 July 2007 Well, I am actually amazed that no one has had the problem I am having. This machine gets stuck and doesn't turn off because coffee gets into the little hole where the on/off switch is located. That means plugging it on and off the wall. The first time it happened I got coffee beans all over the kitchen. Take care.
