A Good Buy For The Money Sent: 30 January 2006 Because of the price of this product I wasn't expecting too much from it but I was really surprised at how good it was. I had previously bought a large blender complete with mixing bowl and attachments but found it a bind to clean out after use and also it took up valuable space in my small kitchen. This little gem does almost everything my large blender can do. It will liquidise soups easily and can even tackle meat casseroles, provided the chunks of meat are not too large. I also use it to make smoothies with, though some fruits have to be cut into manageable chunks first. One of the best features is that after use you can twist off the blade section and take it straight to the sink for cleaning. I haven't tried using this blender for chopping dry things such as nuts so I don't know how good it would be. I have tried it for making bread crumbs and it does not cope well but I don't think that was its intended purpose. It comes with a deep plastic mixing bowl but I don't always bother to use it as the blender is so lightweight I just plunge it straight into the saucepans and save some of the washing up.Though if you do this, do it carefully or you might get the odd splash or two. The other plus for this blender is that you can store it in the kitchen drawer when it's not in use. There are without doubt a lot better blenders on the market but for the price and simplicity I think this one deserves five stars.
What a bargin Sent: 01 September 2005 Have to say, that for the price I don't think you can get a better hand blender than this. It makes great smoothies and great mush for a weaning baby. Comes with a handy plastic jar to blend with. It is very easy to clean (other than the motor, the rest is dishwasher safe). It does have two speeds, but I am yet to figure out why, as they don't make that much difference (hence me giving it a four star rating and not a five star rating). I am yet to make much else, I have been told though that it does make good mayonaise. I am sure you could spend vast amount more on a hand blender, but I really don't think you need to. Excellent for those on a small budget!
Quick & Easy Sent: 06 May 2005 I bought this as having given birth to twins wanted something that would puree food quickly and easily. I use it every day, it's easy to use and clean (goes in the dishwasher). There doesn't seem to be that much of a difference between the speeds, but I tend to use speed 2 mostly as wanting the food as smooth as possible. I wouldn't like to be without it now, it's become a very useful purchase.
Weak Clutch Sent: 17 January 2005 The blender is OK for the price, and should last a good time if just used as a blender. Be careful with the chopping beaker. The device has a weak clutch and will quickly break if you try to chop cheese for example.
Essential for every kitchen Sent: 30 April 2003 I needed a hand blender to mix powdered drink mixes. After looking online and at stores, this one is the most bang for the buck! It comes with a "beaker" with standard markings and a snap-on cover.I use a kenwood chef for large mixing jobs, but this hand blender for a range of smaller jobs. This handheld blender is an essential for every kitchen especially for those who want to puree soups etc. It has worked wonderfully for soups, smoothies, sauces and gravies. I like that it is compact and easy to store.Everyone needs this blender. Use it for one day, and you'll wonder how you lived with out it. The variable speed 400 watt motor can puree sauces, make smoothies, etc. The convienent size ensures you'll use it when you need it, unlike some bulky kitchen appliances. Mine's mounted on the wall, next to the range, right where I'll need it. However, no good review would be complete without highlighting how this unique product could have been made even better: The unit only comes with one blade. Many other manufacturers provide for switchable blades/attachments that can crush ice, froth milk, whip cream, and aerate your sauces and cake/pancake mixes. It is however, easy to clean and quieter than your average blender or food processor. I'd recommend this product for anyone looking for a hand blender or mixer.
