Product Description The 47009 coffee maker makes up to 6 cups of hot, filtered coffee in no time at all, so you can focus on the flavour and not on the preparation.
A real Shame Sent: 27 September 2008 The first machine we received had a fault and sprayed boiling water out when the coffee was being made. Amazon replaced it for us quickly, but over the course of the next 3 weeks another fault developed - despite the "coffee ready" light coming on, it wasnt!! Initially this machine made a very fast cuppa which was perfect for my time challenged husband. However the new fault turned a couple of minutes into about 15 minutes. Its a real shame because when it worked properly it made beautiful coffee very quickly. I would have recommended this wholeheartedly had we not had 2 faults with 2 machines.
What coffee does this take? Help. Sent: 23 September 2008 I bought this as a birthday present for my mum but she and I don't know what type of coffee the machine takes. Please help mention brand names if you can, thanks a lot.
Who needs Starbucks? Sent: 11 June 2008 Having just come back from a month in Spain and France drinking amazing espressos and cappuccinos I couldn't face a bland cup of instant , after a lot of deliberation I plumped for this machine.
First it's easy to use, you plonk a bit of coffee in to the metal filter (doesn't need filters), fill the machine with water and switch on, out comes the coffee. You can set it from Strong to light coffee, perfect.
Next pour milk in to the jug leave on the hot plate while the coffee is being brewed then press the frother button after about 30 seconds you have frothy milk, takes a little longer to warm the milk.
My first coffee was good, a slight adjustment to the strength and the second was perfect.
Build is very good, It is an excellent machine which seems amazingly cheap for what you get.
Would I recommended? Yes, you won't find better at this price, it's probably better than some of the higher priced machines.
A splendid buy Sent: 05 April 2008 I gave my coffee machine to my mum when i moved but soon enough i felt the coffee crave again. I bought this machine and i have to say it is fantastic. The best coffee's i have had plus the frother is brilliant.
You cannot go wrong here, there is no need to spend hundreds when this contraption can do the job with ease!
Good buy for the money Sent: 20 March 2008 Ok, so it's not perfect, but it's darn good! We use the espresso from Lidl and to be honest, haven't had a nicer cup of cappuccino outside of Starbucks. We have not had any problem at all with coffee or water spraying out of it while it's doing it's thing (well, we did once, but I'm pretty sure that was because I was in a hurry and didn't get the coffee holder seated properly).
The milk frother DOES drip something chronic, and the non-stick coating is starting to come off of the milk heating element after about 3 months of solid, daily use, but that doesn't cause any real problems as far as I can see.
Yes, this machine is plastic. Yes, it is not exactly perfect. If you are looking for a nice, metal, high-end machine, then spend the money and get one.
However, if you're looking for an affordable, easy-to-use espresso/cappuccino maker, then this one is definitely value for money.
