GREAT FUN ITEM Sent: 14 June 2007 PREVIOUSLY HAD A POPCORN MAKER BUT THIS SEEMS TO MAKE BETTER POPCORN - THATS PROBABLY DOWN TO THE WAY IT STIRRS IT AS IT POPS. GOOD NOVELTY ITEM GREAT FUN. TASTES A LITTLE DRY COMPARED TO MY USUAL MICROWAVE BUTTER/SALTED PACKS BUT ITS GOT TO BE MUCH HEALTHIER. IT TAKES UP A LOT OF ROOM IN THE CUPBOARD THOUGH
Fun and Easy to use Sent: 03 January 2007 At first we tried this without oil (the healthy option) but it didn't pop very many of the kernels and my little boy was very disappointed. However, we tried it again with a little oil and WOW!! amazing difference and much tastier and crunchier popcorn as a result. We sprinkle it with a little sweetner and it's delicious. It's great fun as you can see the corn popping through the large clear bowl on top, which doubles as the bowl for eating it from - great! As it has a non-stick cooking plate, it's VERY easy to clean, just a wipe with the sponge and dry with kitchen paper and the bowl needs to be cleaned in the sink unfortunately (not suitable for dishwashers) but it doesn't take much to wash it out. It's highly entertaining and makes movie night that bit more special for everyone, especially my sons' friends, you hardly need a DVD when you have this little machine - FANTASTIC!! And worth every penny I would say.
Fun for all the family Sent: 22 August 2006 We normally make popcorn in a pan - can be a bit hit and miss in terms of burning some of it. The popcorn maker was easy to use. Gracie aged 8, read out the instructions, measured the popcorn into the red lid and I turned it on. We wondered if there was something wrong at first, as the machine turned very slowly (this bit worried Gracie as she thought the corn would burn) -however, the corn soon began to pop.
Following the instructions we turned the popped corn into a dish once the pops were between 1 and 2 seconds after, sprinkled sugar on half and a little salt on the rest (according to family taste). It was all evenly cooked and the machine was easy to clean after.
The machine is easy to use (for parents and children alike) and is a fun design.
This will definately be used for stay at home movie nights and sleepovers!
