blend Sent: 12 November 2008 Great all round blender, a little noisy but in terms of looks and build quality it's excellent. No problems so far
Good but.... Sent: 14 August 2008 I have purchased 2 of these from Amazon. Both times the gear mechanism that connects between the jug and the base unit shattered when I blended ice. It's made of plastic and isn't robust enough to cope. Other blenders connect in the same way but use metal fixings. It's a great blender but you have to be careful not to challenge it too much.
Motor died within two years Sent: 15 June 2008 I bought this item in 2006 and used it during the summer months of 2007 (mainly). With the start of summer 2008 we decided to use the blender to make smoothies only to find that the motor died. Philips are unable to replace the item due to the fact that we know longer have the receipt and with the cost to fix it, we are better off just purchasing another blender.
I have given the item three stars because whilst it worked it was really a good product. Don't lose the receipt and when the motor dies you will have better luck than I did.
For the amount of money we originally spent on the item I would have thought it would have lasted longer than two years. Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with most Philips items. I am officially no longer purchasing Philips,
A Great Buy Sent: 08 June 2008 Having researched long and hard for a blender and the Philips being the one that stood out, I decided to try it even though it cost more than I wanted to pay. I have not been disappointed. The suction pads are awesome, the product can be easily dismantled for cleaning and most importantly it blends.
I am very happy
