Great kettle - no problems at all Sent: 04 November 2008 Bought this kettle over a year ago to replace my old faithful Russell Hobbs kettle. Have had none of the problems mentioned by other reviewers, in fact have had no problems whatsover. I am now about to purchase a second one as a Christmas present.
Leaks. Sent: 14 April 2008 I bought mine 5 years ago and it has the same leaking problem when it's filled with over a pint of water. I've found a way to get around this, which is to turn the kettle slightly until it makes a subtle click sound. This still won't stop the leak completely but has saved me from having to wipe the surfaces all the time. My other complaint with this model is that the water indicator is written in material so easy to be worn out - it became indistinguishable in a few months. Also the florescent lamp went out within weeks which I haven't bothered to replace.
Still I've been using this kettle for 5 years now and its performance is consistent, probably because I only use filtered water in it, but it has served its purpose for long enough hence 2 stars.
the leaking kettle Sent: 24 March 2008 looks nice, had mine 2years, it has constantly leaked from the bottom somewhere. i have had enough of work surface being wet when making a cuppa. so i am looking to replace.
