fantastic breadmaker! Sent: 15 October 2008 After making my own bread by hand a few times I decided to buy a bread maker, just for the sake of saving some time. Fresh, yummy bread being very important to us French people...So after looking in a few shops we decided to go for the Morphy Richards 48268 breadmaker. Well it has not disappointed. We use it on the French bread setting for the most part and the bread is truly delicious. The paddle does drop down at the end of the cycle, which then only leaves a dent in the crust after removal. I will definitely apply the advise of soaking the paddle in sunflower oil now and again, and only ever use plastic utensils with it. So we shall see if it stands the test of time but as far as flavour and texture are concerned it is a winner! Highly recommend.
I Love my Breadmaker!! Sent: 22 July 2008 I received this breadmaker as a birthday present from my dad last October (after being extremely jealous of my Grandma's breadmaker!) and I think it is absolutely fantastic! It makes brilliant bread and the timer function is excellent as it ensures your bread is warm and frashly cooked for when you wake up!
My favourite function has to be the Jam making function! Before getting a breadmaker I had tried to make bread (with limited success) by hand but I would NEVER have dared to try to make jam, as it stands now I make batch after batch of jam and change the fruit slightly to make different combinations and you literally just have to chuck in all the ingredients (make sure you do measure precisely though!) and the machine does everything else! It's absolutely delicious too! I give people jars of jam and they think I must be some amazing cook, and sometimes I just let them think that! haha!
If you're thinking about getting a breadmaker I think this is definitely a winner, as has already been said, it is quite large but as long as you have room to store it, that's not really a problem (sometimes if I'm cooking other things I just pop it on the floor and let it do its thing!)Good luck and happy bread and jam making!
Ideal for a novice Sent: 11 July 2008 Bought one of these a week ago and love it. It's easy to use, just chuck the ingredients in and walk away. The recipies supplied are good and the bread tasty. This machine was rated top by Which? magazine but buy it from the co-op online - I got mine new for £46.50 with no p&p!
