pretty good Sent: 06 September 2010 Bought this last month. Have used it a 5-6 times mostly to puree soups, dips and a couple of smoothies. Was great for dips however when pureeing soups and smoothies, it takes a while (ie. need to have a bit of patience) to really have it at a smooth consistency. Tried it on breaking up linseeds the other day and unfortunately doesn't get a s fine as I was hoping. Other than that, I like it a lot. Came with a EU plug but they threw in a UK converter which works fine.
Great when it worked - died after 2 years Sent: 28 August 2010 I did my research, read the reviews and bought this a couple of years ago. It looks great, works well - I agree with the comments about having to tighten the base (not a great design), and overall I was very pleased with it. But now it is broken - just won't work. Unfortunately reading recent reviews this appears to be quite a common problem. No more smoothies for me... :-(
At last a Blender that works!! Sent: 31 July 2010 I have yet to be disappointed with any of Philips electrical appliances.......and I have had a few over the years. This blender does what it says it will do.....from making smoothies to crushing ice. The sucker feet are very strong making it really secure on the work surface and I LOVE the glass jug! I recommend you read the pamphlet that comes with it as you can 'miss' little things e.g. when my husband used it he did not know that the blades could be removed for cleaning, but that could just be a 'man thing'....when do they ever read instruction books???Philips HR2094 Aluminium Chrome/Black Blender 750w
Great Blender - dodgy juicer! Sent: 25 April 2010 I was a bit nervous the first time I started the machine - particularly after reading a few of the reviewers experiences. After 1 week of use I can happily report that all is good with our unit. The blender, blends, the unit fits well together and the blades can blitz a jug of ice in seconds without any problem. a full jug of veg and stock is reduced to a puree in < 10 seconds. Now, I had expected the same results when it came to the juicer attachment. Not such good news here. First of all I dropped in 1/8 segments of apples to juice without success - no luck, they just sat above the blades and glared at me. For the second run, I coarsely chopped the apples and poured about a pint of juice into the blender. Marginal improvement but really no impressive blitzing of chunks of apple (grape sized chunks). Perhaps smaller chunks would have been better or even a partial blending followed by juicing. If it puts you off the blender don't let it. Its a great blending unit.
I sympathise with the comments about the plastic housing for the blenders attachment to the base unit. Looks flimsy but it seems to do the job. I have a 2 year guarantee and a receipt so I will be keeping a close eye on that connection. One comment though - the connection is turbine-shaped so I am less concerned about stripping the female side of the connection than if it was a simple vertical plug setup.
Anyone who has tips for making apple smoothies with this unit please feel free to comment. Pretty please!! Overall, 4 stars for the unit since I was bit disappointed but the juicer insert,
Philips HR2094 Blender Sent: 09 February 2010 We had been wanting a blender or smoothie maker for some time and I bought a Russell Hobbs smoothie sensation when I saw it on offer. What a waste of time. It leaked and no matter how many times I reassembled it it still leaked so I took it back and bought the Philips from Amazon. It has been marvellous and makes wonderful smoothies including crushing ice with no problem. I've also blended soups and we are all very happy with this purchase. It is also easy to use (although it can be a bit stiff to undo and screw back on) and it's easy to clean as all parts can go in the dishwasher.
