Unique product Sent: 20 May 2010 Despite the Ford Sierra-like styling, we've been pretty impressed with this unit so far. The reduction in power from our previous 850W oven has not been as severe as we had feared, and it makes less noise. We had viewed many small ovens but none had such a small effective footprint as this one. Unusually, the oven's cooling fan exhausts forward, causing a warm patch on the worktop immediately in front of it. But the internal space is very well organised and it holds more than you might expect of such a small oven.
If space is limited, note that the door, which opens 130 degrees, interferes somewhat with moving the hot food out when the oven is installed in a right-hand corner.
Invaluable item of equipment Sent: 11 April 2010 I was rather overwhelmed by the number and complexity of microwaves available when my old, basic one pegged out. A friend had recently done her homework and selected the WhirlpoolMax 25 and was pleased with it so I stopped agonising about which one to buy and bought this one. It's great !
Small footprint - large performance Sent: 24 March 2010 I had the original Whirlpool 'Max' style corner microwave that died after 6+ years of great service. I loved the smart compact shape & simple method of operation, so was glad i could 'upgrade' to a newer version with a few more functions. Whirlpool have kept the upgrades to a minimum (if it's not broke don't mess with it!). It's still simple to operate & compact enough to sit in the corner of the kichen under the wall cupboards. Price is not bad, but would have liked a upgrade of the max Watts from 750 to something a little bigger (1000 Watts maybe?) to speed up cooking.
Overall: Great Product, Cleaver use of Space & Simple to use.
Beautiful and useful Sent: 16 March 2010 I am so glad I bought this microwave - it sits neatly in a corner of my very small galley kitchen and looks just great. It created waves of interest and envy in my workplace when it arrived and I unpacked it to check it out - it really is the most attractive microwave I've ever seen. It's also very effective - defrosts quickly, blasts things in 30-second bursts at just one touch (great for nuking drinks that have gone cold), steams wonderfully...
Two words of warning - it says it has 'auto steam function' but that doesn't mean it doubles as a steamer, exactly. The microwave comes with a plastic steaming basket which you put water into, and the microwave then takes care of the steaming, by food type and weight. It's really easy to use, but the description is a bit misleading. Second word of warning - if you have a tiny kitchen, your cupboards may be fitted a bit low and this microwave is taller than most - make sure you will have the necessary clearance before you buy, because once it's arrived you will not want to send it back and will end up doing impromptu carpentry to accommodate it.
When I ordered it I was dismayed to find that Amazon predicted a really distant delivery date, 6 weeks or so, but it actually arrived within the fortnight. Excellent!
Perfect little gem Sent: 31 January 2010 This is my second Maximo. It's all I need in a micro, and sits neatly on a shelf away from the worktop. The first one works, but I broke the turntable. As it's many years old, I've decided on a new one. It does everything basic, and is amazingly spacious inside. Defrosts a large loaf or a large chicken. The best micro I've ever had. Perfect if you don't want any other bells and whistles.
